Can you believe it? Six months ago today, Justin was still in surgery and boy, has this been a journey.
Let me start by saying that Justin is overall doing well and feels ok most days. That being said, he still has many days of pain and discomfort. His bowels continue to heal and improve in function. It just seems to take awhile for the brain to tell the intestines, “ok boys, let’s slow this train down.” Diet has a lot to do with it, and as many times as the doctors (and I) have told him to keep a food journal, he hasn’t yet.
Getting his strength back has been a priority. Justin has worked countless hours in the backyard planting plants, digging holes, and moving rock. It brings him much pleasure to be outside! And, he finally got the stream he has always wanted.

We’ve taken a couple of trips… both of which were planned before his surgery.
Alaska (which included Seattle)

I hate to brag, but we got amazing weather on this trip. Sunny and mid 70s in every port.
And last week, Mexico.

Justin has been back at work since early August. Sometimes working from home… but mostly not. I have to mention how incredibly fortunate we are to have such generous and understanding employers. xo
He has even been seen on a couple of golf courses!

Although six months is a long recovery period, Justin still has a way to go. I feel there are times he is discouraged, but he never says the words out loud. His struggles are most times kept private, so if you ask how he’s doing, expect a brief, “I’m doing ok, getting better each day” answer. However, if you’re one of the lucky ones whom he opens up to, feel privileged. And then tell me what he says… Lol!
And as a final note, from me, thank you to all of those who subscribe to this blog and faithfully follow Justin’s journey. It helps knowing you support not only Justin, but me, as well. Hugs!
Much love, Christina
Continue to pray, we love you all!
